“Borussia” – that’s what Münster’s all-weather zoo keepers christened the newborn wildebeest calf. It should bring luck to BVB in the championship fight today.

Some of the animal keepers in Münster’s all-weather zoo are obviously fans of the Bundesliga soccer club Borussia Dortmund. From this weekend, the wildebeest enclosure will be home to a small BVB family: the wildebeest mom “Emma” (see above photo), which is named after the BVB mascot, gave birth to a baby a good 24 hours ago. Even before it was clear which sex the little wildebeest had, the keepers christened it “Borussia”. It should be a good omen that Borussia Dortmund will replace FC Bayern Munich as German champions in the season finale against Mainz after more than 10 years.
