Börse Express – New York Stocks: Dow continues to outshine Nasdaq

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – On Monday, investors continue to favor classic industrial stocks on the US stock exchanges. The Dow Jones Industrial
rose in early trading by 1.43 percent to 35,075.71 points and once again performed significantly better than the technology stocks that had to give way last Friday.

While the market-wide S&P 500 The technology-heavy selection index Nasdaq gave 100 by 0.20 percent to 15,680.62 points. It is currently at its lowest level since the end of October.

According to market observers, investors are increasingly switching from technology and growth stocks to papers in cyclical industries. They attribute this to increasing signs that the US Federal Reserve is reducing its bond purchases more quickly.
