Despite the ongoing open outcome of the US presidential election, investors in the US stock markets were in a buying mood on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial rose 2.12 percent in early trading to 28,438.33 points. So the Dow plus this week already adds up to more than 7 percent, with which the leading index more than made up for its 6.5 percent loss from the previous week.
The market-wide S&P 500 gained 2.29 percent on Thursday to 3522.28 points. The Nasdaq 100 advanced 2.64 percent to 12,088.49 points.
President Donald Trump’s Democratic challenger Joe Biden is only a few electoral votes missing for entry into the White House. However, the incumbent has already sent his attorneys with lawsuits against the further counting of votes in several states in order to prevent a defeat by legal means./edh/he
