Boxer Kubrat Pulev was invited by GERB leader Boyko Borisov to become a member of his party, but refused because he insisted on his sports career. “And I’m not one of those people who likes to trump,” the athlete said in an interview with BTV.
According to him, in the past Borissov initially won his trust, but later became associated “with people he shouldn’t have” and failed to “play the game of chess with the right moves” and lead Bulgaria on the right path.
The boxer was also asked to comment on Borisov’s remark, in which his name was mentioned. After “There is such a people” nominated chess player Antoaneta Stefanova for prime minister, Borissov said: “I guess the next party will nominate Kubrat Pulev as prime minister, this is not serious.” The athlete answered that things are not serious in GERB either, and he could answer more rudely, but he will refrain.
Pulev also criticized Slavi Trifonov, who as the leader of a second political force – “There is such a people”, according to him should appear in public and not communicate with his constituents virtually. When a person is insecure, then he does not show up, said the boxer.
