Earlier, French Prime Minister Jean Castex was immunized against Covid-19 with the Oxford vaccine in a hospital near Paris. The vaccination was broadcast live on television to restore public confidence in the drug. Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi also said he would be vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Fifty-six-year-old Johnson was vaccinated at the same hospital where he was in the intensive care unit last year after being infected with the coronavirus. He later said he felt so ill that there were plans to report his death.

“I literally didn’t feel anything. It was very good, very fast,” Johnson said today after the injection at London’s St. Thomas Hospital.

“When each of you is notified to go get vaccinated, please go and do it. This is the best thing for you, the best thing for your family and everyone else,” he said.

The British health authorities announced today that a record 660,276 doses were delivered in one day in the United Kingdom. The record for the first or second dose comes at a time when the country is approaching the point where half of the adult population will have received at least one dose of the vaccine. According to official figures, 26,264,000 British citizens received the first dose of the vaccine, and 2,011,000 received both doses.

The world leader in vaccination is Israel, followed by the United Arab Emirates, Chile and the United Kingdom. Investors are watching closely whose economy will recover the fastest, Reuters notes.

1 million have already died with COVID-19 in Europe

Europe became the first region in the world with one million victims of the coronavirus. Through mass vaccination, the Old Continent is trying to emerge from the third wave of the pandemic, which has once again overwhelmed hospitals.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 37 million and 220,000 infected in Europe. This accounts for 30% of all infections in the world and 35.5% of deaths.

12% of vaccines are given for every 100 people in the countries of the Old Continent – far behind the United States, where the percentage is 34.

“It all started again. On October 26 last year, for the second wave of COVID-19, we opened an intensive care unit, which closed on June 15. It has been crowded with patients ever since. It is not over. We are still facing different strains. and people need to understand the seriousness of this disease, “said Intensive Care Unit Chief Dr. Abdid Widad.
