Boris Johnson calls on the International Football Association Fifa to vigorously mark against those responsible for removing the behavior from football.
“It is completely unacceptable that the English players were racistly attacked in Hungary last night,” Johnson wrote on Twitter.
When England met Hungary away in the World Cup qualifiers on Thursday night, English players, including Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham, are said to have been verbally attacked by parts of the audience. Several in the stands made applause addressed to the players.
Before kick-off The English players were also booed when they went down on their knees in a demonstration against racism, according to British ITV and Sky Sports.
England captain Gareth Southgate talked a lot about the racist attacks after the match, despite England winning 4-0.
– It is not right to criticize all Hungarian supporters. Many behaved very well. The individuals who are responsible must be addressed, says Southgate.
