Boris Herrmann a sustainable partnership

science

Every second breath we take comes from the ocean. The ocean covers 75% of the earth’s surface.

The ocean plays an important role in slowing climate change. It absorbs about 30% of all man-made CO2 in the atmosphere and 93% of all excess heat in the atmosphere.

The Malizia team has set itself the task of advancing scientific ocean research. This is done using a SubCTech ocean sensor that was originally installed on the Seaexplorer – Yacht Club de Monaco in 2018 and updated in 2020.

Scientists can use its data to monitor CO2 levels, temperature, salinity and PH levels in inaccessible marine areas around the world.

This information is very valuable to help scientists understand the effects of climate change in our oceans, especially in the little-traveled Southern Ocean. There is next to no data in these remote areas; we want to change that and make a real contribution to scientific knowledge.
