Borderlands 3 Gets Next Gen Update With Four Player Split Screen Option – Gaming – News

Gearbox will provide Borderlands 3 with a free update for next-gen consoles. The game will run in single player mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 4k resolution at 60fps. The game will also have a four-player split-screen option for local co-op.

In addition to the option to split the screen in four, Borderlands 3 will also have the option to choose from both a vertical and horizontal split screen for two players in split screen. That choice is also coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game with an update.

The ability to play local 4-player co-op is only available on the next-gen consoles from Microsoft and Sony. Gearbox also promises a graphics update for those consoles, bringing the resolution to 4k with a frame rate of 60fps. This applies to the single player mode; details about the resolution and frame rate in other modes are not provided by the developer.

Borderlands 3 will also get a new paid expansion later this year, which is not part of the Season Pass. It’s not about an addition to the story, but a completely new game mode and a new one skill tree for all Vault Hunters, with new Action Skills. Details about the new game mode are not yet available and it is also not known when the expansion will appear. Borderlands 3 came out a year ago. Tweakers published a review of the game.
