Renovation bonus for modifying or maintaining verandas, sheds, gazebos in 2023

According to the provisions of the laws in force, to build, modify or maintain a veranda, shed, gazebo in 2023 it is possible to take advantage of the building renovation bonus and connected mobile bonuses.

The renovation bonus provides a 50% tax deduction for those who carry out a building renovation of their property for a maximum amount of 96 thousand euros, which can be used in 10 annual installments of the same amount and can be requested by all those who intend to renovate their home, taxpayers who pay income taxes, residents or non-residents in Italy, owners or other subjects who support expenses as tenants or bailees, holders of a real right of enjoyment, members of divided and undivided cooperatives.

The furniture bonus is linked to the renovation bonus, which is due to those who carry out ordinary building renovations on their homes and allows for a 50% Irpef deduction for the purchase of furniture and large appliances of a class no lower than A+ (A for ovens) for furnishings of a building undergoing renovation.

The deduction is valid on a maximum expenditure of 8 thousand euros (which will still drop to 5 thousand in 2024) and is divided into ten equal annual installments. To take advantage of the furniture bonus for the purchase of furnishings for a building undergoing renovation, you only need to make payments with traceable tools and keep all documents, invoices, receipts, which certify the actual expense incurred in order to be able to justify it in the event of any tax audits.

It is possible to take advantage of the furniture bonus both for the purchase of all kinds of furnishings and furniture to be placed on the veranda for example, and for the purchase of lighting fixtures to complement the furnishings of the building subject to renovation and for the purchase of large household appliances, provided they have an energy label of class A+ or higher, A or higher for ovens.

Ecobonus for building or modifying verandas in 2023

Among the concessions available in 2023 to build or modify verandas there is the possibility of taking advantage of the 50% eco-bonus but only in certain cases, that is if only certain types of verandas are built.

It is, in fact, possible to take advantage of the 50% eco-bonus if you decide to build a porch with panoramic and non-fixed VePa windows that allow heating costs to be reduced, because they are able to capture heat to distribute it within the environment and guarantee heat, while at night they block its dispersion by creating a protective buffer zone of the dwelling.

The eco-bonus for installing removable panoramic windows therefore, it applies if the windows have blackout screens or if they are installed in place of the old windows to ensure less heat loss.

When you can have garden bonuses 2023 to change veranda, shed or gazebo

Not closely related to construction or maintenance work of verandas, canopies or gazebos but still related to these constructions is the garden bonus 2023 which you can use if you intend to carry out work to improve your garden on your veranda or under your canopy or gazebo.

The garden bonus provides for an Irpef deduction of 36% on expenses incurred for work on the arrangement and improvement of green spaces and gardens which is divided into ten equal annual installments, out of a maximum amount of 5,000 euros for work on residential real estate units .

This means that the maximum deduction that can be obtained is 1,800 euros (36% of 5,000) per property. It is possible to take advantage of the 2023 garden bonus for types of work such as:

  • construction of green roofs;
  • creation of hanging gardens;
  • landscaping of private uncovered areas of existing buildings, real estate units, appurtenances or fences, irrigation systems and construction of wells;
  • design and maintenance costs relating to the execution of the previous interventions;
  • construction of irrigation systems and wells;
  • requalification of lawns;
  • large prunings;
  • supply of plants and shrubs.

Therefore, if, for example, you wanted to create a hanging garden on your veranda to change it, then you can request the gardens bonus.

The 2023 gardens bonus is due to all taxpayers who own or hold, on the basis of a suitable title, a property in which they want to carry out interventions to modify and improve green spaces, therefore not only property owners, but also bare owners, house tenants for rent, those who enjoy a real right of enjoyment such as usufruct, those who have the property on loan, those who use the property for the exercise of their professional activity, etc.
