Bonnie Pointer, one of the original singers at The Pointer Sisters, passed away on Monday morning at the age of 69. Her sister Anita announced this on Monday evening TMZ.

“It is with great sadness that I let fans of The Pointer Sisters know that my sister, Bonnie, passed away this morning,” said Anita Pointer. “Our family is devastated, and on behalf of myself and my relatives, I am asking for your prayers today.”

It is not known what causes the death of the award-winning singer.

Bonnie Pointer was one of the original singers with the singing group The Pointer Sisters. The group started as a quartet with the sisters Ruth, Bonnie, Anita and June, but continued as a trio when Bonnie Pointer started a career as a solo artist in 1978.
