On Wednesday, April 20, an American ten-hundredweight ordnance from the Second World War was found on Bataverstrasse in Neuss (Bolssiedlung). The explosive ordnance will probably be defused later today by the explosive ordnance clearance service of the Düsseldorf district government. A small part of the Düsseldorf city area around the Rheinbahn depot in Heerdt is in zone “B” – nobody is allowed to be outdoors here during the defusing. Windows and doors should remain closed.
The crisis management team of the city of Neuss is currently meeting to determine how to proceed. Affected residents (see map) can apply at https://www.neuss.de/bombenfund Keep up to date.
