Slowly, but surely, we are approaching the date of presentation of the future iPhone 13, scheduled for the fall period, and more particularly for the month of September. If there are still six good months to wait, rumors are rife, especially around the components and novelties that will bring the smartphone.
Regarding the screen, which should be OLED, we now know that Samsung and LG will be two of Apple’s partners for this version. It seems that another company is joining the dance, since BOE is also expected to supply the screen for the iPhone 13.
Publicity
BOE could be another supplier of OLED displays
As reported by the Economic Daily Times of Taiwan, BOE could therefore become one of the suppliers of the OLED display for the iPhone 13, after losing the offer for those of the iPhone 12. To do so, the company has partnered with GIS-KY, a manufacturer of touch screens under Hon Hai Group, to improve the quality of touch screens.
In the past, iPhone OLED panels were mainly supplied by two large Korean factories, Samsung and LGD, with Samsung being the larger one. BOE’s increased share of the iPhone offering means that its position in Apple’s supply chain has improved and OLED technology has moved closer to that of major South Korean manufacturers. In the future, it should get more orders from brand manufacturers, which is a big plus for the cooperating factories of BOE.
Publicity
To achieve the goals, BOE is reportedly setting up a new factory in Mianyang.
