Two years ago, the BMW iX3 concept crossover debuted, which heralded the imminent appearance of a serial electric modification: the premiere was scheduled for 2020. Since then, the company has repeatedly reported on the stages of development of a commercial vehicle, warming up interest with photos of a car in camouflage, and even sharing portions of technical specifications. For example, the recoil of an electric motor (286 hp, 400 Nm) and the capacity of the traction battery (74 kWh) are already known. However, now the first photos of a production copy have appeared on the Web, which means that the official premiere is just around the corner.
There are not so many external differences from the concept of two years ago. Almost all the characteristic design elements got to the production model, except that the fused nostrils of the plastic plug are decorated differently. The electric modification is still given out only by inserts of blue color, the absence of exhaust pipes and the previously promised aerodynamic alloy wheels. Interestingly, in the picture there is not even an additional hatch of the charging connector in the left front wing. Recall that the mass production of electric BMW iX3 will be launched at the Chinese factory BMW Brilliance JV in Shenyang, where they assemble the usual X3 for the local market.
