BMW has modernized the 3 Series. It remains a conservative choice

The current generation of the BMW 3 Series arrived in 2019 and the Germans had already released 1.1 million units. This means that demand for this generation was stronger in the first three years than for any of the previous issues.

While virtually all of BMW’s innovations in recent months have shocked the front, in particular, the 3 Series remains a rather conservative choice, even after the new facelift.

As part of the modernization, the front bumper has been changed, but it retains the horizontally located radiator grille. The so-called vertical kidneys are therefore held in the Munich middle class by the 4 series and the M3 version.

The LED headlights are now narrower and have an inverted light signature. The rear lights do not change, but the rear bumper is more angular again. There will also be new shades of paint on offer.

In the interior we find a new look of ventilation vents, but above all a curved display. The driver’s 12.3-inch digital instrument panel transitions in one glass into a central 14.9-inch screen with an eighth-generation operating system. As in the recently introduced i4 electric car.

The new sedan can be ordered in three and the Touring station wagon in four plug-in hybrid variants. Four petrol and four four- or six-cylinder diesel engines with outputs from 110 kW / 150 hp to 275 kW / 374 hp are also offered for both sedan and station wagon.

Production will begin in July 2022. Prices for the Czech market start at CZK 1,028,300 per sedan in the 318i engine.
