BMW Group is celebrating, as it has managed to increase its global sales data by a +6.5% with the BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brands, with a total of 2,555,341 cars delivered. In addition, they celebrate that of all of them, 376,183 units were fully electric vehicles, these cars reflecting a large increase compared to 2022.
Of those 2.55 million units, 2,253,835 vehicles belonged to the BMW brand, while MINI’s figure barely reached 300,000 cars sold. Be that as it may, what has caught our attention the most is the significant growth in the numbers of the BMW M GmbH sports subsidiary.
Worldwide, no less than 202,530 BMW M units. It is the highest figure for the company in its 50-year history and, in addition, represents a 14.3% growth compared to the previous year. We remember that during the past year, high-performance models such as the BMW M2, M3 Touring and the BMW XM were put on sale.
However, none of those three models mentioned, nor the M3 sedan, M4 in any of its variants or M5 – to name just a few – have been the best sellers. It is striking that the best-selling M has been the BMW i4 M50although it should not surprise us excessively because during 2022 exactly the same thing happened.
This is probably hurting the most passionate and purist followers of the brand, but it is reality. It must also be taken into account that There are currently many more M models and versions than a few years agoand not only because it has several different bodies as in the case of the M3/M4, but also because of the less powerful M versions such as, for example, a BMW M135i or a BMW X2 M35i among many others.
By the way, in Spain The BMW i4 M50 has a starting price of 79,550 euros. We remember that this car generates no less than 544 CV and thanks to its 81 kWh battery it has an approved range of 512 kilometers, being a truly efficient vehicle.
