Bloomberg: MacBook Air with a new design (even smaller and with MagSafe magnetic charging) may arrive in the second half of 2021

It will be located one step above the current model. MacBook Air (M1) and will be released in the second half of 2021 or early 2022.

It’s no secret that this year Apple will continue to update its Mac lineup and migrate the remaining models to its own ARM processors M1… In the latest Bloomberg publication approvesthat a large-scale redesign will receive not only 2021 MacBook Probut also the MacBook Air, which only recently changed a generation and became the first Mac on the M1.

Reportedly, the new MacBook Air will be even thinner and lighter than the current model. Presumably, the new 13-inch screen with thinner bezels will allow to achieve more compactness. Apple is also considering a larger 15-inch MacBook Air, but the company has yet to make a final decision, according to Bloomberg.

Other features of the new MacBook Air include a more powerful next-gen SoC M1, dual USB 4 ports and a magnetic MagSafe charging connector.

This potential redesigned MacBook Air is characterized as a “more advanced version” of the current MacBook Air (M1), which retains the design of the model. MacBook Air early 2020 (our review). That is, Apple is likely to keep the MacBook Air (M1) as a more affordable alternative to this new MacBook Air.

Apple’s desktops are also expected to be updated this year with the new bezel-less iMac and half the size Mac Pro.
