bloodstain morphoanalysis

Résumé

The morphoanalysis of bloodstains makes it possible to determine the events at the origin of these traces on a crime scene, thanks to the examination of their form and their distribution. Depending on their size and their dispersion (passive, projected or contact stains), the traces of blood offer valuable information regarding the understanding of the sequence of events, the nature of the violence and the type of weapon used. The data collected by the morphoanalyst thus completes the genetic analysis and contributes to the assessment of the suspects’ statements.

This book presents all the tools, information and procedures essential to the expert in morphoanalysis to accomplish his mission in an objective and neutral way, and according to a proven scientific approach. It sets out and develops the procedures according to the NF EN ISO/CEI 17020 standard and offers for the first time an illustrated atlas of the discipline as well as a complete identification key for bloodstain patterns.

A reference for all experts in the field, and which will also interest those curious about this field of criminal sciences.
