Bloodcurdling scene in Calgary

Following a crash by Ryan Hartman, Oliver Kylington crashed headfirst into the boards, which caused quite a bit of everyone at the Saddledome to hold their breath.

Fortunately, Kylington was able to get up and didn’t need to be carried on a stretcher.

His teammates made sure to have the last laugh by resisting a late push from the Wild to get the two points.

The Flames won by a score of 7 to 3. Note the brilliance of Matthew Tkachuk and Tyler Toffoli, who both scored 2 goals and 1 assist. It’s a nice reaction from Darryl Sutter’s squad, who suffered a crushing 7-1 loss to the Canucks on Thursday to see their winning streak end at 10.

The win gives Calgary a 5-point cushion atop the Pacific Division. In fact, it’s not even the Golden Knights who are in second place anymore. The Kings’ victory combined with the Knights’ loss means that it is now Anze Kopitar’s squad that is hot on the heels of the Alberta team with about thirty games remaining on the schedule.
