Colombians who recovered from Covid-19, donated their plasma for research. The goal is to help cure Covid-19 patients.
The plasma donation procedure takes approximately 40 minutes and is similar to blood donation.
Furthermore, plasma was applied twice to Covid-19 patients suffering from severe disease to test its effectiveness in aiding their recovery.
“This plasma application in principle 80 percent of patients experienced a significant improvement and that is a good result, when there is no vaccine available and no standard treatment is available,” said Head of the Bogota Institute of Science Bernardo Camacho.
