Blockade of the Suez Canal: Egyptian authorities reach agreement on dispute

The Egyptian authorities have reached an agreement in a dispute over the blockade of the Suez Canal caused by the container ship Ever Given in March.

The owner of Ever Given, the Japanese company Shoei Kisen Kaisha, said the arrest of the container ship would be lifted on Wednesday.

However, Shoei Kisen Kaisha does not disclose details of the agreement reached with the Suez Canal Authority.

The Panama-flagged 400-meter-long and 59-meter-wide Ever Ever, operated by Taiwanese company Evergreen Marine, reportedly turned sideways and got stuck in bad weather on March 23, stopping sailing in the Suez Canal altogether. On March 29, it managed to get off the ground.
