Blinding Lights from The Weeknd is by the listeners of VPRO 3voor12 voted Song of the Year 2020. The results were broadcast on Friday evening by NPO 3FM.
The thirty-year-old Canadian singer scored last year with Blinding Lights a world hit. The song was listened to more than 1.7 billion times on the various streaming platforms and landed in first place in dozens of countries, including the Netherlands.
Finished in second place in the Song of the Year pageant Oh by Eefje de Visser. This also makes her the highest ranked Dutch artist.
Earlier in the evening, the singer also won the 3voor12 Award for the best Dutch album of the year with Bitterzoet.
