The creative organization team installed black light lamps on the ceiling and the stands and covered the field markings with tape in colors that glow in black light. In addition, the faces of the players who had covered their clubs with neon-colored tape were made up with face paint. In order to be easily recognizable in the field, everyone wore light-colored clothing that glowed in the black light.
In the adult category, Levin Diwo and Jan-Philipp Nickel could look forward to defending their title. Second place went to Anna Küpper / Niklas Kampmeier, while Simeon Praschan and Marco Meiwes came third.
The premiere of Blackminton Young for all team players up to 16 years of age was played with 16 doubles and saw Tarik Çolak and Henri Saur as winners in the “A-field”. Silver went to Lina Meierfrankenfeld / Amy Billig, third place went to Anna Nischk / Noah Akmann. Alexander Franzke and Jana Hölting won the “B field”, who relegated Jasper Baumann and Nick Klassen to second place. Bronze went to Noah Apel and Lea-Sophie Brokordt. The winning pairings received donuts.
“We are proud and extremely satisfied with the process and the mostly positive feedback from all sides. In the second edition we had reached significantly more clubs and more matches than the first time, ”said co-organizer Hannah Schiwon. Pairings from Münster, Clarholz, Lippstadt, Gütersloh, Bielefeld and Elsen registered. Schiwon: “Next time we want to reach an even more mixed field from all over the OWL.” The primary goal of this tournament is not so much placement. “Our intention is to bring people together outside of the field, to have fun together and to enjoy the time in an extraordinary and unique environment.”
