It is almost five years since it became known that actor and singer Bjarte Hjelmeland (51) and cohabitant Terje Stenstad (50) had divorced after a full thirteen years of cohabitation. The breach – which Hjelmeland subsequently described as a “proper” breach – took place in the autumn of 2015.
Since then, the popular comedian has been a single man – but that’s the end of it. Hjelmeland has found happiness with the 26-year-younger nurse Lars-Erik Syversen (25), writes Se og Hør in Tuesday’s edition.
– It has been a very real break
The couple in love appeared hand in hand at the premiere of the show “Stardust” at Chat Noir in Oslo recently.
– I can confirm that I am madly in love, says Hjelmeland to Se og Hør.
Blowing in the age difference
He and Syversen met through mutual friends last autumn, and have been a couple since October. However, this is the first time they appear together in public.
The age difference of 26 years they care very little about.
– I am also 25 years young and in love, the 51-year-old jokes to See and Hear. Syversen, for his part, says that it feels good to have found love.

– For Lars-Erik, it is a new world and a new experience. He’s not used to this. For me, it’s liberating to meet lots of old friends again. It is so nice to see people again, says Hjelmeland to Se og Hør.
The couple in love will spend the summer together, and will enjoy lazy days in Norway, including at the cabin on Nesodden.

– It has been a very real break. I feel we have managed to break up without hurting each other more than absolutely necessary, said the actor and director in an interview with Dagbladet Magasinet one year after the break-up.
When asked if the breakup was mutual, the 51-year-old drew a little on the answer and admitted that he had been ready to give the relationship an extra chance. He had also experienced a similar break-up before.

– On the other hand, we had tried. At some point one has to say that “ok, now we have tried”. We both know it was right. We keep the friendship. I think that we became better and better colleagues, and worse and worse boyfriends, he told Dagbladet Magasinet in 2016.
The multi-artist has previously told about his first meeting with his former cohabitant in an interview with Se og Hør. Hjelmeland and Stenstad met through a mutual acquaintance, and the former was charmed immediately:
– I immediately fell in love – or at least fooled by his beautiful appearance. I remember just thinking “oi!” when I saw him, the 51-year-old revealed to See and Hear in January 2015.
