BIN boss refuses to talk about Bjorka and internal data leaks

Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Budi Gunawan refuses to talk about action pirate Bjorka and recent internal data leaks. It was said that BIN did not respond when asked by the members of Commission I of the DPR at today’s working meeting.

Regarding the reluctance of the head of BIN to speak with Bjorka and the leak of internal data, this was communicated by a member of Commission I of the DPR of the Golkar faction, Nurul Arifin. According to Nurul, a member of the Commission had asked Budi about the alleged data leak within BIN but received no response.

“We mentioned (about the BIN data leak), but there was no response. We only responded globally for the data leak,” Nurul told reporters after the DPR I Commission met with BIN at the Parliament Complex. , Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (26/9).

However, according to Nurul, Budi explained that his party was conducting research related to the problem of data leakage. Nurul said the “players” came from the country and abroad.

“It was mentioned before (about BIN’s research effort). It’s pretty clear, however, they also identified who knew, got caught, there are players locally, yes, I mean in Indonesia and there are many players from the global world. Especially in the hacking of government institutions. So they are also playing on a professional level, “said the deputy governor of Golkar.

As for Bjorka, Budi declined to comment. Budi did not respond to questions on the progress of the follow-up of the action pirate Bjorka who often exposes the personal data of public officials.

Budi remained silent as he exited the DPR Commission I meeting room when reporters were bombarded with questions about Bjorka.

Budi announced that the closed-door meeting with Commission I of the DPR discussed the work plan and budget (RKA) and a number of real issues. Among other things, cyber security and data security issues ahead of the 2024 general elections.

“The issue of the RKA KL budget in 2023. (Crucial issues) are cybersecurity issues, cybersecurity systems in preparation for 2024 electoral security,” Budi told reporters after the meeting.
