Bill Gates: We are building factories for 7 vaccines Abroad

Gates makes those revelations in The Daily Show, now renamed The Daily Social Distancing Show. Gates wants to “save time” by building more factories than necessary with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

“Although we will choose up to two vaccines at the end, we are going to fund factories for seven vaccines so we don’t waste time constantly telling each other, ‘oh, what vaccine would work?'” Said Gates.

He will “waste a few billion dollars” building the factories that will eventually go unused. “But a few billion in a situation like this, where we lose billions with the economy, is worth it.”

It will be a year and a half before a vaccine is available, the billionaire predicts. He points to measures such as keeping 1.5 meters away, not meeting people, and closing schools and catering establishments. Painful measures will continue to be needed “until we get the world vaccinated,” Gates said. “That is a major task, but that is where we have to go.”

Praise and criticism for Foundation

The Gates Foundation is believed to be the world’s best-known multi-billion dollar charity project. Gates is often acclaimed as a selfless philanthropist. Critics, however, speak of a disguised investment vehicle. “It is a new kind of charity where those who benefit sometimes are not the poor in the world, but the richest in the world, and the goal is not to help the poor, but to help the rich to help the poor,” the American magazine The Nation, which had analyzed 19,000 gifts from the past twenty years, concluded last month.
