Cataño – The former American president Bill clinton He chose this Monday to stay out of the Democratic primarist race on the island.
“I am not going to get involved in this elementary school. I do not think it’s fair. I don’t think it should be there ”, said the former president.
Clinton made her expressions in a separate part with the press after visiting the Sagrada Familia Cooperative, in Corozal and the nonprofit organization, Caras con Causa, in Cataño as part of the annual work of her Clinton Foundation.
The former president showed full knowledge of the primarist process on the island by remembering that there will be three primary ones: the Democrat, the Republican and the local for the nominations of the New Progressive Party and the Popular Democratic Party.
The primaries of the Democratic Party will be on March 29 and the premises on June 7. The date of the Republican primaries is yet to be decided.
Clinton recalled the 2008 and 2016 presidential primaries in which his wife, Hillary Clinton, aspired to be the Democratic Party candidate against Barack Obama and Donald Trump, respectively.
“Hillary won (in Puerto Rico) by massive margins in 2008 and 2016. I am very grateful for what Puerto Rico has done for my family,” Clinton said.
He rejected that the former first lady and former secretary of state would be vice president if Michael Bloomberg becomes the next president of the United States.
“No and I don’t know where that came from. I don’t know anything about that, ”he said.
“People should focus on their primarist contest and the candidates that present themselves and not be distracted,” he added.
