The Ministry of the Environment sound the alarm: watch out for false applications on the 2020 Mobility Bonus which have appeared in the last few days on the various online stores. The Ministry refers to the 2020 Bike Bonus provided by the Government to encourage the purchase of sustainable and ecological vehicles such as bicycles, e-bikes, electric scooters and segways. The incentive was made necessary by the rules for social distancing which provide for a reduced number of people who can use public transport.
And the simplest alternative are just ecological and sustainable means such as bikes and scooters. The 2020 bike bonus expects up to 500 euro bonus to purchase one of these devices. To obtain a refund, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Transport are preparing an online platform where people who have already purchased one of these vehicles can submit the application. The application, however, is taking longer than expected to be released (initially it was scheduled for early July) and some scammers have thought of taking advantage of it by publishing the fake applications. With a press release published on its official website, the Ministry of the Environment warns Italian citizens: beware of fake web apps on the 2020 Mobility Bonus.
“The Ministry of the Environment invites those who intend to take advantage of the 2020 mobility bonus to be wary of web applications that are currently active and which can be misleading, because the only channel for obtaining the bonus will be the one activated by the Ministry of the Environment on the site www.minambiente.it. In fact, the presence of applications on the “2020 Mobility Bonus” has been reported, downloadable from the most popular platforms.
When the institutional application is available on the website of the Ministry of the Environment, the only site from which you can access the benefits, public opinion will be informed well in advance so that you can request the bonus in full transparency and with clear indications on all the necessary documentation.
The Ministry will report to the competent authorities applications that may cause confusion among users on the methods and procedures for obtaining the bonus.”
It seems, therefore, that some scammers are using this waiting period in which the official platform has not yet been released to try to deceive users with false hopes. And especially with fake web applications.

The apps have been released on various web platforms where they usually are users download applications and programs. It is still not very clear what the consequences are for those who download one of these false applications, but it is almost certain that the scammers ‘goal is to obtain users’ personal data, so that they can resell them online or reuse them in other scams.
How to defend yourself from the fake Bike Bonus 2020 applications
As explained in the press release, the only site from which it will be possible access the 2020 Bike Bonus it is that of the Ministry of the Environment: all the others are false and endanger the users themselves. The Ministry will also notify in time of the exit of the platform, so that there are no problems of any kind.
