The government is currently working on a solution to overcome congestion in Puncak Bogor. One of them is building a toll road
Citing the website of the Directorate General of Highways, There are three solutions offered, first, widening the road, but this is constrained by land which is now expensive.
Second, the arrangement of the intersection, this is because the results of the assessment have four or five congestion points on the route. The third solution is to build a freeway aka toll road.
According to the Director General of Highways at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Hedy Rahadian, the third solution is considered possible. The toll road from Caringin to Puncak is 18 kilometers (km). The route is Caringin-Cisarua-Gunung Mas.
Hedy explained that there are two schemes for toll road concessions, namely the solicited route and the unsolicited route or also known as the initiative. The first scheme, the solicited route, is included in the ministry’s work plan ( pipeline).
The Directorate General of Highways has a pre-FS (Feasibility Study) process being carried out this year, then FS, AMDAL, land and so on.
“We will see that if government support is needed, it will certainly be included in the queue for government support,” Hedy was quoted from the website of the Directorate General of Highways, Thursday (16/6/2022).
The second scheme, the path of initiative (unsolicited). According to Hedy, this model can be faster, and as a solution that must be explored.
“If it is from the business model that you think it is possible to take initiative, we will offer it on an initiative basis if anyone is interested,” explained Hedy.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Commission V of the DPR, Lasarus, asked the government to immediately find a solution to overcome the congestion. Lasarus said Commission V of the DPR RI fully supports the steps taken by the government in overcoming congestion, including the construction of an 18-kilometer toll road.
“We agreed that the entire team of the Commission V group after listening to an explanation from the Directorate General of Highways that the only solution was to build a toll road starting from Caringin-Cisarua-Gunung Mas with a length of 18 kilometers. ” said Lasarus.
