Publishers from six parts of the world – Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa, Latin America and North America – are nominated for the award each year. Five publishers from each region are nominated for the final.
This year Big and small compete with the publishing house Samokat from Russia, two publishers from France – Helium a Editions Thierry Magnieras well as a publishing house Wytwornia from Poland.
Prize The best children’s book publisher of the year will be served for the tenth time, and the publishing house Big and small has been nominated for the last five consecutive times.
The winners will be announced at the 59th Bologna International Children’s Book Market. The fair will take place this year from March 21 to 24, and the nominated publishers will be voted on by professionals registered in the industry. The Bologna International Children’s Book Market is the world’s largest meeting for the children’s book industry.
Children’s book publishing house Big and small will celebrate his 18th birthday later this year, reaching the age of majority.
