Biden: Zelensky ignored our warnings about the Russian invasion

“There was no doubt about it, but Zelensky didn’t want to hear it,” Biden told a charity reception in Los Angeles on Friday.

He added that he was aware that many people thought he was exaggerating when he warned of an unprovoked invasion of Russia. He explains that nothing like this has happened since World War II. “But we had data to confirm that.”

A spokesman for Zelenský rejected the criticism, saying that the President of Ukraine had spoken to Biden before the invasion and called on partner countries to adopt preventive sanctions that would stop Putin, but the partners did not listen to him, the Czech News Agency reported.

Biden reported on the expected attack on Ukraine at the beginning of the year. “The danger of a Russian invasion of Ukraine is very high,” he said on February 17. He warned against the attack at the end of January during a phone call directly with Zelensky. At the time, the Ukrainian head of state was to say that the threat from Russia remained “dangerous but ambiguous.”

Russia attacked Ukraine on February 24.
