Biden Presents His Cabinet’s First Nominees and Calls for Confirmation, Trump Allows Transition | Univision News Elections in the US 2020

New Mexico, Minnesota and North Carolina this Tuesday certified the results of their elections, adding to the Pennsylvania and Nevada certifications earlier in the day.

New Mexico and Minnesota certified the results they gave to the president-elect, Joe Biden, as the winner in those states, while North Carolina certified the results giving 15 electoral votes to the president Donald Trump.

The New Mexico Certification Board – made up of Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver, Governor Michelle Luján Grisham, and Chief Justice of the state, Michael Vigil – awarded Biden five electoral votes. There, Biden outscored Trump by 10.8 percentage points.

In Minnesota, meanwhile, Biden’s victory was certified by the state Certification Board – comprised of Secretary of State Steve Simon, state Supreme Court justices Margaret Chutich and Gordon Moore, and district judges from the Hennepin County, Regina Chu and Christian Sande.

Biden beat Trump in Minnesota by just 233,000 votes, taking the state’s 10 electoral votes.

In North Carolina, the State Board of Elections certified Trump’s victory.

“Today, we officially register the voices of more than 5.5 million North Carolinians by certifying this historic election,” said Karen Brinson Bell, executive director of the State Board of Elections, to CBS 17 News.
