In Japan, a series of emergency measures against corona will probably end this week. The government has asked for advice, but it is expected that the measures will not be extended now that there are fewer infections in the country. If all measures were to fall, it would be the first time since April. This concerns, for example, shorter opening hours of cafes and restaurants, and not selling alcohol. Measures may be taken in its place, such as a corona pass and more tests.
In Japan, the number of infections rose sharply in July and August, to reach a peak after the Olympic Games. There were 5,000 infections per day in Tokyo alone, and more than 25,000 nationwide. There was no hospital bed available for thousands of corona patients, they had to endure corona at home. The numbers of infections with corona are now much lower, about 2000 per day. 56 percent of the population is fully vaccinated.
