Biden convenes a meeting of the National Security Council because of the situation around Ukraine

As UNIAN reported earlier, United States President Joe Biden is ready to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

United States Secretary of State should meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov on February 24, if there are no new military actions of the Russian Federation against Ukraine before this date.

In addition, on Saturday, February 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that he did not know what President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin wanted, therefore invites him to meet.

Last week Joe Biden has already made phone calls with the head of the Kremlin. Then the US President noted that Washington was ready both for diplomatic cooperation with Russia and for other scenarios of the development of events. The head of the White House warned Putin that the United States would give a decisive and quick response in the event of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
