The president of the United States,JoeBiden, on Friday signed a law worth 858,000 million dollars (806,000 million euros) that increases the pay bill for members of the Armed Forces and revokes the military mandate for the vaccine against covid-19, effective from August 2021 .

Last week, the US Senate passed the annual defense policy bill authorizing a total of $817 billion in funding for the Department of Defensewhile the remaining amount corresponds to minor items to counter inflation, for military construction and the purchase of fuel.

“The law provides for a 4.6 percent salary increase for military personnel and provides 45,000 million more than originally requested to counter the effects of inflation and accelerate the implementation of the National defense strategy,” reads a statement from the Department of Defense.

In addition, the law clarifies Washington’s commitment to the I WILL TAKE in the framework of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as it includes an increase in aid to Kiev, as well as a new program to provide security assistance to Taiwan.

However, the Administration Biden had to give in to the Republican request to revoke the military mandate for the covid-19 vaccine and President Joe Biden himself had previously assured that some provisions of the law “raise concerns”.

Prior to its repeal, several Administration officials criticized the Republican demands, arguing that the measure undermines health, even though the Democrats have finally given the ‘green light’ to the bill given the high vaccination rates within the Armed Forces, as reported by Politico.
