New trainer job for ex-rapid coach Goran Djuricin! The 45-year-old from Vienna signs with the Swiss second division club Grasshoppers Zurich, returning to Fredy Bickel, who has been managing director at the Zurich team since October 2019. Djuricin succeeds Uli Forte, who was released on Saturday after the Hoppers’ 4-1 defeat by promoted Stade Lausanne-Ouchy.
Bickel promoted “Gogo” in April 2017 after Damir Canadi’s departure to the new Rapid head coach. Despite numerous criticisms, the 54-year-old held on to Djuricin for a long time until it separated from Djuricin at the end of September 2018.
Bickel is looking forward to the renewed cooperation: «We are very happy to be able to sign Goran Djuricin, a head coach who has always loyally served his clubs, brings professional know-how, social skills and positive emotions with him and the chance is burning to put an exclamation mark abroad. »
Most recently, Djuricin worked in the 2nd division at FC Blau-Weiß Linz from April to December 2019.
