JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Bank Indonesia (BI) will issue a special rupiah currency in the framework of a warning Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, Monday, August 17, 2020.
The plan, Monday (17/8/2020) to coincide with the 75th Indonesian Independence Day, the Governor Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo and Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati will inaugurate the issuance of the special edition rupiah currency.

“On this auspicious occasion we intend to extend an invitation and at the same time ask for confirmation of the presence of colleagues at the ‘Inauguration of the Issuance of the 75th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’ with the Governor of Bank Indonesia and the Minister of Finance,” said BI as quoted by Kompas.com, Sunday (16/8 / 2020).
Special rupiah currency is money issued by BI in commemoration of a certain event or purpose. The special rupiah currency has a nominal value that is different from the selling value.
“Special rupiah currency consists of special edition coins and / or banknotes that are not cut so that they resemble a large sheet consisting of several bills (money linked)” explained BI in the Bank Indonesia Special Metal Currency document.
