BGN 154 million for transferred as redistributive support to just over 46 thousand farmers – 2024-03-28 15:22:12

The rate is over 50% higher than the 2022 Campaign support.

State Fund “Agriculture” (DFZ) paid BGN 154 million (BGN 154,427,164) to 46,334 beneficiaries under the intervention “Additional redistributive assistance of Income for Sustainability” (DP-OPDU) for Campaign 2023.

The particular one rate for the intervention is in the amount of BGN 218.34/ha, according to Order No. RD 09-347 of 27.03.2024 of the Minister of Agriculture and Food. Financial support under DP-OPDU for Campaign 2023 has been increased by more than 50% compared to support for Campaign 2022, when farmers received BGN 140.81/ha each, the fund calculated.

The Additional Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability intervention replaces the redistributive payment scheme that operated in the period 2014-2022. It is one of the tools of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to ensure fairness by redistributing income support from larger to smaller or medium-sized farms.

The intervention for additional redistributive income support provides additional funds for the first 30 hectares of agricultural holdings in the country, the maximum size of which reaches 600 hectares.

We also remind you of the eligibility requirements for the DP-OPDU intervention. Candidates for Campaign 2023 who have applied for support for agricultural areas under the OPDU are entitled to subsidies. The other condition is that they meet the requirements for the eligibility of payments under the OPDU.

After making the final payment under the OPDU, including the determination of the upper limit (“ceiling”), the amount of the additional financial resource will be determined based on the applications of the applicants who requested the intervention.
