Beyoncé received Humanitarian Engagement Award

Called in her acceptance speech Beyoncé their fans – probably also with a view to the upcoming presidential elections in November – to vote. “We have to choose as if our lives depend on it because it does,” was said Beyoncé cited in several US media. Accordingly, the singer is said to receive the award for, among other things, her initiative “BeyGOOD” with which students are supported.

Every year, alongside musicians, the BET Awards recognize actors and athletes who belong to an ethnic minority. This year included Beyoncé including the singer Lizzo, the group Migos and musicians Chris Brown to the winners. Best actor was again Michael B. Jordan (“Black Panther”).
