JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Chief Strategy Transformation & Digital Officer of Maybank Indonesia Michel Hamilton said, there were various ways hackers did (hacker) to steal customer data.

According to Michel, this is a challenge for Maybank Indonesia at this time. Security needs to be improved, including in the M2U application.

The hackers have various patterns, ranging from on behalf of banks to theft of customer data through financial technology (fintech).

“What are the patterns? Like some we’ve seen. There are website fake trying on behalf of website official bank but it turns out not, “he said in a virtual webinar, Friday (11/9/2020).

“Then (using) malware in the laptop, PC of each customer or social engineering what has often been done is trying to provide wrong information by calling or terrorizing to get the information they need, “he continued.

Therefore, Maybank Indonesia said that it will continue to improve system security so that it can maintain customer data.

Michel also said that until now 90 percent of his customers have started to switch to using Maybank’s digital service, namely M2U. He said the application has been downloaded 500,000 times.

“If we look at the total number registered from month to month, it can be said that 90 percent are already active in our M2U,” he said.
