“In conditions like this, in the rainy season, it is important for us to be aware of dengue fever. “Therefore, maintain cleanliness, yes, clean living, clean environment, clean mosque, and so on,” said Ustadz Fauzi, his nickname, after congregational morning prayers and gathering with residents at the Al-Baitul Kamal Mosque, Klanceng Hamlet, Kamal Village, Arjasa District, Thursday ( 1/25/2024).

According to him, it is not enough to maintain cleanliness to avoid dengue fever, but it is necessary to activate the 3M movement, namely draining, covering and burying.

“Draining water reservoirs such as bathtubs, water buckets, drinking water reservoirs, and so on. Close water storage places such as drums, jugs, and the like. “Bury or reuse used items that have the potential to become mosquito breeding places,” he explained.

Fauzi performs Congregational Morning Prayers twice a week at mosques in the Arjasa District area. He said, this was a follow-up to Jember Regent Hendy Siswanto’s appeal to all sub-district heads in Jember Regency.

“The regent himself has been carrying out morning prayers in congregation from mosque to mosque for the past two years. “So we (the sub-district heads) represent him because it is impossible for him to go to every mosque (for Fajr prayers) due to time constraints,” he concluded.
