Better than WhatsApp and Outlook? Sdui from DHDL wants to solve school problems with an app

“I think your appearance is great and the topic that you are dealing with here is very good,” summarizes Mr. Regal Ralf Dümmel. “I love” The Lion’s Den “because of guys like you,” added the investor.

However, the question of financing quickly arises. The founders make the app available to the schools. There is a one-time fee of 500 euros for the program and costs for a subscription. Sdui charges two euros per student and teacher. A school with 1,000 students therefore pays 2,000 euros per year.

Around 300 schools in Germany currently use the product. On average, the app has subscription income of EUR 300,000 a year and another EUR 150,000 for selling the software.

Contrary to expectations, the sum scares the lion away. Carsten Maschmeyer, Frank Thelen and Nils Galgau wonder how and why the three founders expect a company valuation of seven million euros.

Daniel Zacharias explains that the schools recognize enormous potential from the app and that pilot projects have only recently been started abroad. In addition, other subscription models are conceivable. There are also colleges and universities that can use Sdui.

Is the argument sufficient? Does Sdui find an investor? The answer will be available on Tuesday, April 14th at 8:15 p.m. on Vox and TV Now.
