Bercy maintains the reduction in corporate tax over the next two years

It will be cheese and dessert. While companies were promised an unprecedented cut in production taxes at the start of the summer next year, for the tidy sum of 10 billion euros , the government also confirmed to them at the end of July that the corporation tax (IS) would be well reduced as it had committed to last year. The bill for the measure should however be significantly less than expected due to the economic crisis, according to several sources. “Indeed the decrease will be respected. We do not wish to increase taxes or call into question tax cuts already provided for in previous finance bills ”, we explain to Bercy.

A few weeks ago, the employers were worried about the future of this promise to reduce the IS bill, for lack of official confirmation from Bercy. Certainly, Bruno Le Maire repeated everywhere that there would be no tax hike . But the bosses had been scalded: twice, the government had returned to the path of lowering this tax, promised during the presidential campaign of Emmanuel Macron in 2017.
