Bentley recalls 6,000 crossovers due to risk of fire – Motor

Judging by the records of the National Traffic Safety Administration of the United States and Automotive News, the review includes a Bentley Bentayga with a V8 engine, released from January 2018 to March 2020. On these crossovers, a structural defect in the fuel line connector was found, which could lead to fuel leakage. The part will be replaced with a modified one, and the software of the cooling system fan will also be updated – if this is not done, then the cabin may smell gasoline, and in the worst case scenario, a fire will occur.

Previously, Bentley reported on the release of the 20,000th Bentaygi – thus, almost a third of the crossovers produced for the whole time fall under review. Today it is the most demanded model of the brand, and its share last year accounted for 42 percent of global sales. The Bentayga family includes modifications with V8 and W12 6.0, the “charged” Bentayga Speed ​​and the Bentayga Plug-In Hybrid.
