Beneš remains at the head of ČEZ for the next four years

If he completes the approved mandate, he will lead the company at least until the end of 2025. The semi-state company is now preparing a tender for the construction of a new nuclear unit at the Dukovany power plant.

The Seznam Zprávy server wrote in mid-November that Beneš could become the prime minister of a possible caretaker government, justifying this, among other things, by the currently planned construction of a new unit at the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant.

Beneš said on Wednesday on Czech Television that he had never received such an offer, stating that he had no political ambitions and would not enter politics. “All these speculations are one hundred percent fabricated,” he added.

CEZ is the largest Czech energy company. The majority shareholder of the company is the state, which holds about 70 percent of the shares through the Ministry of Finance. At the end of the third quarter of this year, the number of CEZ Group employees was approximately 31,900, which was approximately one percent less year-on-year.
