Bella Hadid open about mental health problems | celebrities

CelebritiesBella Hadid (25) has for the first time told more about her mental health in the past year in an interview with ‘Wall Street Journal Magazine’. The supermodel spoke of the “excruciating and debilitating” difficulties she has to endure on a daily basis.

In the interview, Hadid explains why she hasn’t used a personal stylist for “two years”. She said she felt bad about her outfits and appearance “partly caused by the fear of paparazzi waiting outside my house,” Hadid admitted.

“Over the past year, it’s been really important for me to learn that even if people talk about my style or if they like it or not, it doesn’t matter because it’s my style,” she said. “When I leave the house in the morning, I now think, ‘Does this make me happy? Do I feel good about this and do I feel comfortable?’”

It’s not the first time the supermodel has shown that her life isn’t all glitz and glamour. In November last year, she posted a series of photos on Instagram of her crying. “I felt really depressed and when my mother or my doctor asked how I was doing, I would send them a picture instead of replying,” she said. “That was the easiest thing for me to do at the time, because I was never able to explain how I felt.”

When asked why she just shared the photos with her almost 49 million followers, the model is very honest. “I was in excruciating mental and physical pain, and I didn’t know why,” she said of the inspiration behind the photos. “When I posted them, it was to make sure anyone who felt that way knew it was okay to feel that way too.”

Hadid concluded the interview by confessing that while she still has good and bad days, she has absolutely no regrets about sharing her vulnerable side on social media: “It makes me feel better to know that so many people who are going through the same things as me,” she said. “I don’t know if that’s what people want to see on Instagram, and that’s fine. I don’t have to be on Instagram forever. But I feel like it really made a difference, and that’s what’s important to me.”
