There will be a major study this year on what it takes to support employees who have lost a family member. The Ministry of Social Affairs announced this in a response. “That can be leave, but also other forms of support. We are waiting for the results so that we can make a full assessment of this theme,” says a spokesperson.
The study also looks at the possibility of bereavement leave in the event of a miscarriage or a stillborn baby. GroenLinks and SGP had requested this from Minister Koolmees. The investigation has not yet started, but the minister said in April that he expected the results to be available be before the end of the year.
