Belgian rights holders want money back: ‘Other legal steps’

Belgian rights holders Telenet, Proximus and VOO have put the Pro League on the block. They want part of the television money that has been transferred as an advance for this. The competitions in Belgium are not completed.

Telenet and Proximus have long wanted to talk to the Pro League. The former provider is now fed up. “It is now completely clear that a third of the matches, including the attractive POI matches, will not be played,” Telenet told Sporza.

“It seems fair to us that an advance will be refunded if the services are not provided. We can still discuss the way in which that repayment should be made.”

Telenet wants the clubs to refund the already paid TV rights for the matches that are not finished. “We are making a final appeal to the Pro League to look for a solution together. If the Pro League does not act on this request, we will consider legal action.”
