The pilot of a small plane died Saturday afternoon in the takeoff crash of his aircraft from the aerodrome of Prouvy (North), near Valenciennes, we learned from the firefighters.
According to La Voix du Nord, he is a Belgian sexagenarian. Twenty firefighters were hired and had to extricate him. The small passenger plane was found accidentally at the end of the runway.
According to witnesses, the ULM suffered an engine failure while it was taking off.
