Belgian couple with young child shot by hitchhiker | Abroad

The suspect walked on the RN638 towards Anthisnes around 11 p.m. on Sunday evening. A young couple from Seraing passed by and offered him a lift. For an unknown reason, however, a fight broke out between the three. The hitchhiker then grabbed a gun and shot the couple. The man was seriously injured. His condition is currently stable, but his life-threatening condition remains. The woman suffered minor injuries. The couple’s young child, who was also in the car, was unharmed.

The hitchhiker fled after the shooting. Officers were able to arrest the suspect a few hours later.

The man was questioned on Monday. The exact circumstances and motive are not clear. For the time being, the investigating judge also does not want to provide any further information.
