Belenenses President Reacts to Heavy Defeat Against Nacional and Trusts in Team, Despite Protests

After a heavy defeat in Madeira against Nacional (0-5), president of the Blues considers that “no championship is decided on the 14th round” and trusts in the team

Patrick Morais de Carvalho, president of Belenenses, reacted this Sunday to the defeat suffered by the Blues yesterday, at the Madeira Stadium, against Nacional (0-5), in a game counting for the 14th round of the 2nd League, which provoked many protests among the blue fans, a situation that has been recurring due to the bad results, which even led to the dismissal of the previous coach Bruno Dias.

In a post on Facebook, the leader of the Restelo emblem recalled that “no championship is decided on the 14th round” and that the team will be able to fulfill the objective set for the season, which is to remain in the professional championships, something he admitted in an interview with Record in June. The 54-year-old leader also made it clear that he trusts the entire structure and coach Vasco Faísca.

The Lisbon team, coming from League 3 – in which they were runners-up last season, losing in the final against União de Leiria –, currently occupy a modest 17th place in the Sabseg League, with just 12 points won, with 10 goals scored. and 24 conceded in 14 games. They are two behind Penafiel (15th) and Leixões (16th), and just ahead of Länk Vilaverdense (18th), which has 10 points.
